Looking for an unsigned forward? These guys are available

James Southerland - Waived by the Bobcats this week to accommodate Chris Douglas-Roberts - himself set to feature strongly on this list - Southerland was an unlikely candidate to make the team in the first place. His only plus NBA skill is his catch and shoot jump shot, and that is too inconsistent at this point. There are better shooters available.

2013 Summer League rosters, Orlando Summer Pro League - Philadelphia

James Southerland

Southerland has a good if slender frame for a small forward, and a good if streaky jumpshot. Those are his two clear-cut and defined strengths, and he's not made a great deal of effort to expand beyond that. Southerland knows how to get open without the ball for his shot, and can spot-up, but doesn't create much off the dribble. And when it does, it's normally for the jumpshot, from either three or mid range. Southerland's decent athleticism and long wing span help him, as does his quick release, but to make it as a shooting specialist, he needs to be a better shooter. The 39.8% from three he shot from three is an outlier that needs to continue.

An Unnecessarily Exhaustive Guide To The 2010/11 NCAA Tournament, Part 2: Eastern Region

On rhythm guitar, Kris Joseph is more than likely going to be called out at the next NBA draft. Freshman C.J. Fair provides backing vocals, and reminds one of Joseph, whilst being farther along the curve than Joseph was at a comparable age. Fair is long and athletic, a disruptive defensive player, transition finisher and good rebounder, who developed the ability to use his currently limited offensive abilities as the season went on, becoming a decent slasher from the mid-range area and sticking the occasional 14 foot jumper. And behind them, loading up the equipment vans, A&R man James Southerland does a good impression of an entry-level Walt Williams in his limited minutes.
