Hilliard’s sophomore year was a big step back from his rookie year. Given the exact same role and the exact same minutes, he gave the exact opposite performance, losing his shooting stroke from outside, throwing the ball away bizarrely regularly and committing fouls at a far higher foul rate. The three-and-D potential remains, but the results do not, and the time for rookie jitters is passed. At this point, he has lost his place to Bullock.
Player Plan: Unguaranteed minimum salary until July 1st (de facto team option), final year. Poor season, but with tax not likely to be a factor, might be worth keeping for one more season of evaluation.
