The 2018 NBA Manifesto

Jordan Bell
PF - 6’9, 224lbs - 23 years old - 1 year of experience

Despite being clearly not being good enough for the Chicago Bulls, it turns out Bell was just about worthy of a roster spot on the Golden State Warriors. But even though the Warriors mired their way through another terrible, lottery-bound season, Bell was barely able to get off the bench all season, spending most of his time on assignment and out of sight in the G-League, and when he did occasionally get time with the big league club, he played badly.

Oh no wait, that’s wrong. Turns out he was a very good player on a championship team.

The Warriors’ pass-tastic system has another disciple in Bell, who quickly showed a new wrinkle to his athleticism-centric skill set once joining them. Bell, it turns out, can throw kick-out passes, make good decisions in transition and have some success with the short roll play making that Draymond Green does. Add that to the rather rough but very impactful help defence, the rebounding, the athleticism, the finishing and the dunking, and what Golden State have for themselves is a mighty effective role player.

Next year, he will likely also learn to shoot. And then maybe the Bulls will deem him worthy.

Player Plan: One year of guaranteed minimum salary remaining and an easy keeper.
