Really Overdue 2010 D-League Draft Review

21st: - Bakersfield Jam - Brandon Wallace, South Carolina

Wallace was the man who kept Dominique Archie to the bench in his early years. He's a stat stuffer in every column except points, and briefly spent time with the Boston Celtics for this reason. Standing 6'9 and very athletic, Wallace is a big time shot blocker, a very good rebounder and a threat in the open floor, who can't take contact on either end and who makes bad decisions (including, but not limited to, trying to dunk everything) but who can make shots around the basket as long as you set them up for him. His jumpshot is weak, but not non-existent, and he will run the court for as long as you let him. It's strange that he would be drafted behind Perry Stevenson, since he's essentially a better version of him; it may, however, have something to do with the fact that Wallace hasn't really developed in his three professional seasons.

- Brandon Wallace

Former South Carolina forward and one time Celtic Brandon Wallace started the year in Israel with Hapoel Holon. He struggled offensively, however, and averaged only 5.8 points and 7.5 rebounds in 23 minutes per game, leaving after only six weeks to join Turow Zgorzelec in Poland. There, Wallace has averaged 6.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.4 blocks and 0.7 steals per game, doing his usual thing in filling up the stat sheet. However, he still doesn't have an offensive game to call his own.
