An Unnecessarily Exhaustive Guide To The Eurocup Final Four

With Popovic struggling, Calloway out for all of the regular season, and no real third stringer in place, Cajasol have made do with a two combo guard backcourt of Txemi Urtusan and Louis Bullock. Both are natural scorers and shooters (although Bullock has shot only 30% from downtown this season for whatever reason), yet they've been pressed into service as ball handlers and playmakers. Both have done so before, particularly Bullock, and it works to their advantage that both have the physical tools to defend the point guard position as well. It's had a Mike James/Lindsey Hunter-Pistons days feel to it, and as a duo, they've helped more than Popovic did. It's been both necessary and possible, though, due to the presence on the wing of draft prospect Tomas Satoransky, who has emerged as the primary playmaker. Satoransky has size, athleticism, a smooth handle, passing vision, a greatly improved jumpshot, and a remarkably high IQ for one who was only 18 years old when this season began. He's developing well, and he's developing quickly.

The best of what's left

Louis Bullock - After seven years, former Timberwolves draft pick Louis Bullock has finally left Real Madrid. This is partly because he has declined. Now 34, Bullock still rocks the three point shot, shooting 46% from three in the ACB last year, but he's still a 6'1 shooting guard with no other statistical contributors. He is also losing his speed as he ages, and thus his defense. His NBA window shut about 11 years ago, but I'm listing him here anyway.

Where Are They Now, 2010; Part 10

- Louis Bullock

Bullock is into his sixth season with Real Madrid. He's averaging 10.4 points per game in the Euroleague and 11.1 points per game in the Spanish league. He's shooting only 86% from the line, however. I say "only" because this man never seems to dip under 92%. On the flip side, he has 83 points on 47 Euroleague shots and 187 ACB points on 113 shots, with a combined true shooting percentage between the two of .682%. As shooting/scoring specialists go, that's kind of handy.
