Larry Ayuso - 29 games, 33.1 mpg, 18.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 2.0 apg, 0.7 spg, 0.2 bpg, 41% FG, 35% 3PT, 90% FT

Former USC guard Ayuso is a Puerto Rican national team staple and a bit of a hero over there. This is his 14th BSN season, which is no mean feat; he was playing in the BSN even before he started his college career, and hasn't missed one since. He shoots very well and does pretty much nothing else; however, so good has he been at that one thing on the international stage over the years that he has drawn multiple NBA looks over the years, including a training camp contract from the Mavericks. Ayuso was in the D-League in 2008-09 between BSN stints, and averaged 13.2 ppg for the Iowa Energy.

(By the way, speaking of; in the BSN, the All-Star game consists of Natives versus Imports. The natives won, 109-95. Larry Ayuso top scored, and Carmelo Lee was named the MVP. A box score can be found here. Note how the league discerned between the Puerto Rican passport holders that were "natives", and those that were "imports" (Mojica, Rivera, etc.) It seems a touch arbitrary.)

- Larry Ayuso

The Puerto Rican league runs in the summer time, during almost every other league's offseasons. It's for that reason that they're able to get so much talent there. Ayuso, a Puerto Rican native, played in the Puerto Rican league last summer with Cangrejeros de Santurce, averaging a very Brandon Armstrong-like 21.4 points and 1.6 assists. And even though the Puerto Rican league doesn't start for ages, Ayuso has already signed there once more, moving to the Capitanes de Arecibo. This is because Arecibo are (or were) in the Liga Americas, the 16 team cross-continental club tournament for all countries South American and Latinish. Arecibo went 1-2 in their three group games last month, failing to qualify. Ayuso averaged 11.7 points along the way.
