"That's a trick question. The U.S. does not have a capital." - Elton Brand after being asked the capital of the USA

Troy Murphy: Drafted 14th overall in 2001. Signed to rookie salary scale contract for that year. Signed a 6 year, $58 million extension in October 2004.

Danny Granger: Drafted 17th overall in 2005. Signed to rookie salary scale contract for that year. Signed a five year, $60 million extension in October 2008. Contract contains performance bonuses, $200,000 per annum of which are currently listed as "likely."

Mike Dunleavy Jr: Drafted 3rd overall in 2002. Signed to rookie salary scale contract for that year. Signed a 5 year, $45 million extension in October 2005.

T.J. Ford: Drafted 8th overall in 2003. Signed to rookie salary scale contract for that year. Signed a 4 year, $33 million extension in October 2006. Contract has performances incentives that add $275,000 to each year when met, but which are currently listed as "unlikely".

Jeff Foster: Drafted 21st overall in 1999. Signed to rookie salary scale contract for that year. Signed a six year, $33 million extension in October 2002. Signed a two year extension for the maximum that he could receive ($12,734,500) in October 2008.

Jamaal Tinsley: Signed a 6 year, $40.95 million extension in October 2004. Bought out in July 2009 for $10.7 million of the remaining $15.2 million.

Earl Watson: Signed a one year contract in July 2009.

Dahntay Jones: Signed a 4 year, $10.6 million contract in July 2009.

Brandon Rush: Drafted 13th overall in 2008. Signed to rookie salary scale contract for that year.

Tyler Hansbrough: Drafted 13th overall in 2009. Signed to rookie salary scale contract for that year. However, it has an unusual stipulation in it. The rookie scale allows for players to sign for as much as 120% of their slotted amount, or for as little as 80%. With but the rarest of exceptions, players sign for the full 120%. Hansbrough is no exception; he, too, has signed for the maximum. But in all four seasons of the contract, only 80% is guaranteed, meaning that if he is waived, he receives only 80% for all remaining years. I've never seen this anywhere before, ever. You ought to know this.

Travis Diener: Signed to a 3 year, $4.86 million contract in July 2007.

Solomon Jones: Signed a two year, $3,120,000 contract in July 2009.

Roy Hibbert: Drafted 17th overall in 2008. Signed to rookie salary scale contract for that year.

Josh McRoberts: Re-signed to a two year minimum salary contract in July 2009. Second year is only $250,000 guaranteed, increasing to $500,000 if he's not waived on or before June 20th 2010, and increasing to full if he's not waived by opening night.

Luther Head: Signed a one year minimum salary contract in September 2009. $250,000 guaranteed. Head is actually being paid $884,881, the minimum salary for a four year veteran, but as his minimum salary contract is only for one year and he has more than two years of experience, the team is only billed an amount equal to the minimum salary of a two year vet. The league pays the rest.

A.J. Price: Signed a three year minimum salary contract in September 2009. First year is $175,000 guaranteed, becoming $300,000 guaranteed if Price is not waived on or before December 1st, and becoming fully guaranteed if not waived on or before January 1st 2010. Second year is fully unguaranteed, becoming $175,000 guaranteed if not waived before August 1st 2010, becoming $380,000 guaranteed if not waived on or before 2010 opening night, becoming $531,000 guaranteed if not waived or on before 1st December 2010, and becoming fully guaranteed if ntow aived on or before January 5th 2011. Last year is also fully unguaranteed, becoming $200,000 guaranteed if not waived on or before July 29th 2011, and becoming fully guaranteed if not waived on or before opening night 2011. Phewph.
