Available salary cap exceptions

Salary Index  Guide  Cap Exceptions  Trade Exceptions  Free Agent Cap Holds  Draft Pick Cap Holds

The following is a list of the salary cap exceptions available to each team. There are eleven exceptions to the salary cap altogether, and this page only covers four, but that's because the others (Larry Bird Exception, Early Bird Exception, Non-Bird Exception, Minimum Salary Exception, Rookie Scale Exception, the other Traded Player Exception (see trade exceptions page) and the Reinstatement Exception) are non-exhaustive. And these ones aren't.

Note that although it does not really matter, the Bi-Annual and Mid-Level Exceptions decrease in value as of January 10th in any season, by an incremental amount equal to 1/170th of their total initial value for every day we are beyond that date. This is not listed below because I can't be bothered to update it that often - however, in all the time I have dealt with salary information, this stipulation has never actually mattered.

List updated as of 16th January 2012.
