Lesbian dopeheads on mopeds

The following page lists all the players in this website's database who have had some drug-based strife of some sort in their life. Most of it is about pot, hence the name, but anything is included; steroids, missed tests, heroin, etc. Listed chronologically.

Note: As I've said above, only players in the site's database are included on this list. This is because it doesn't really behoove me to go looking up Stanley Roberts and Isiah Rider news.

   Rashard Lewis

6th August 2009 - Suspended for ten games after testing positive for an elevated testosterone level. Lewis blames it on an over-the-counter supplement.

   Frank Williams

12th June 2009 - Arrested and charged with one count of possessing between 30 and 500 grams of marijuana. Originally booked on "intent to deliver" as well after a digital scale and a handgun were also seized, but charges were not brought for those two.

   Darius Miles

15th May 2009 - Pulled over for speeding. Upon checking for outstanding warrants, he was arrested for driving with a suspended license. The car was impounded, and, upon being searched, was found to contain a trace of marijuana, so he was also arrested for possession.

   Donta Smith

8th May 2009 - Suspended by the BSN (Puerto Rican league) for the remainder of the season after testing positive for marijuana.

   Orien Greene

April 2009 - Suspended from Netherlands basketball after being caught smoking a joint. His team (MyGuide Amsterdam) then played him in a playoff game anyway, claiming that they didn't know of the suspension. This caused conflict.

   Jamar Butler

16th February 2009 - Arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Pled no contest. Fined $150 and had his driving license suspended for six months, so I'm assuming he was in his car when arrested.

   Jerome Beasley

12th January 2009 - Suspended by FIBA for three months after testing positive for cannabis.

   Corie Blount

4th December 2008 - The king of this list. Arrested and charged with felony drug possesion and drug trafficking. Blount had had 11 pounds of marijuana sent to him by post, and after he went to collect it, police tailed him home and arrested him. While there, they found and conviscated two more parcels of marijuana (totalling 29 pounds in all), along with $29,500 in cash, three guns and three cars. Pled guilty to the possession in exchange for the trafficking charges being dropped - two cars and the cash were permanently conviscated, as they were considered to have been acquired through illegal means. Blount's attorney claimed in his guilty plea that Blount only acquired the pot because he was depressed, and that he had no intention of selling it, which doesn't seem to follow with their agreement to have the cash and cars conviscated. But whatever. Eventually sentenced to a year in jail after the judge refused to believe that all that pot was for personal use. Also had two of the vehicles and the cash conviscated. There's a video of the sentencing here.

   Darius Miles

19th September 2008 - Suspended by the NBA for 10 games for violating the league's anti-drug policy. Reportedly, the violation came from a slimming pill which Miles was taking, after getting a bit fat while recovering from his microfracture surgery.

   Michael Beasley

18th September 2008 - Fined $50,000 for his involvement in the incident with Darrell Arthur and Mario Chalmers during the Rookie Transition Program (see below). Beasley initially denied his involvement in the incident and refused to cooperate with the league investigation; the level of his involvement was never really explained, although he was definitely in the room with them at some point.

   Darrell Arthur and Mario Chalmers

3rd September 2008 - Kicked out of the rookie program after they refused to leave their hotel room during a fire alarm. When hotel security entered anyway, the room was found to be full of the smell of marijuana, as well as two women. What kind of crazy bastards are they? Forced to retake the program the following year and fined $20,000 each, but not suspended.

   Brad Miller

10th July 2008 - Suspended for 5 games for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy.

   Joakim Noah

28th May 2008 - Arrested and charged with underage drinking and misdemeanour marijuana possession. Accepted whatever the hell a "deferred prosecution agreement" is, and was sentenced the next day (somehow) to a $200 fine and 6 months probation. The charge will be removed from his record if he stays trouble free for the length of the probation. Additionally fined $206 in traffic fines for driving with a suspended license without knowledge and not wearing a seat belt.

   Josh Howard

April 2008 - Admitted during a radio interview to smoking marijuana during the offseason. Which wasn't particularly smart of him.

   David Harrison

11th January 2008 - Suspended for 5 games for violating the league's anti-drug program. Admitted to smoking pot, but then gave a radio interview denouncing the decision and stating his belief that the NBA shouldn't be able to interfere with his private life.

   Keon Clark

October 2007 - Arrested for possession of marijuana, controlled substance and a firearm, driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and DUI. Charges dated back to August 2006. Was sentenced back on October 10th to 30 months in prison on the marijuana and unlicensed firearm charges, and was sentenced for 30 more months in jail back in September for the driving on a suspended license charge, to be served consecutively. But the sentence was thrown out due to Clark not having legal representation at the hearing, a right that he didn't waive. Legal records show that he was in a rehab centre in Texas during his absence. Admitted to being an alcoholic during the appeal hearing.

   Shawne Williams

11th September 2007 - Arrested and charged with marijuana possession and driving without a license (apparently, he has never had one). Possession charge dropped, but Shawne then missed a court date two weeks later, which wasn't sensible. Sentenced to 40 hours community service..

   Justin Reed

5th September 2007 - Arrested and charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, a misdemeanor which carries a fine from $100 to $250. Charges dropped when two of his friends (who were also arrested) signed an affidavit claiming the weed was theirs.

   O.J. Mayo

9th March 2007 - Was one of four people ticketed - but not arrested - for marijuana possession, after marijuana was found in the car the four were riding in. Charges were dropped after one of the other three claimed the weed was theirs. The lesson, as ever - always have a wingman to carry the weed and guns.

   Lindsey Hunter

7th March 2007 - Suspended for 10 games for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy. Hunter tested positive for phenermine, a banned substance used for weight loss. He claimed that the pill was his wife's, and he took it by mistake, thinking that it was something else.

   Josh Heytvelt

9th February 2007 - Arrested and charged with possesion of an illegal substance after he and Gonzaga teammate Theo Davis, who were travelling in Heytvelt's car, were pulled over in a traffic stop because the back lights weren't working. The officer smelt marijuana in the vehicle, searched it, and found a small amount of weed as well as some dodgy mushrooms. Not dodgy as in old and inedible, but dodgy as in moody, illegal, illicit, shifty, etc. The marijuana charge was only a misdemeanour, but the possession of the shrooms was a felony. Sentenced to 240 hours of community service (he did nearly 300 in the end), weekly drug tests and compliance with a court-supervised diversion program that led to the dismissal of the charges a year later.

   Sean Williams

22nd January 2007 - Kicked out of Boston College permanently after a third suspension for violation of team rules, reportedly for a failed drug test.

   Eddie Griffin

12th January 2007 - Suspended for 5 games for violating the league's anti-drug program.

   Maurice Taylor

6th December 2006 - Suspended for 5 games for violating the league anti-drug program. For the third time.

   Rodney Buford

Late 2006 - Suspended by FIBA for 3 months for failing a drugs test. Again.

   Cliff Robinson

12th May 2006 - Suspended for 5 games for violating the league's anti-drug program. Again.

   Tim Pickett

February 2006 - Suspended by Italian basketball after testing positive for cannabis. Returned in September.

   Chris Andersen

27th January 2006 - The NBA dismissed Chris Andersen from the league for violating the league's substance abuse program. Andersen was found to have taken a "drug of abuse," and while he never admitted what it is, the CBA defines "drugs of abuse" as any of methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, opiates (including heroin, codeine, morphine), and PCP. Andersen could not apply for reinstatement for two years, which he ultimately successfully did.

   Sean Williams

21st May 2005 - Arrested for marijuana possession. Suspended by Boston College.

   Cliff Robinson

   Qyntel Woods

29th October 2004 - Suspended for 5 games for violating the league's anti-drug program.

   Carmelo Anthony

October 2004 - Cited for marijuana possession, but got off after his mate signed a sworn affidavit claiming that the marijuana was his. Apparently such an affidavit makes the fact that the drugs were found on Anthony's person totally irrelevant.

   Qyntel Woods

February 2004 - Fined by the Blazers for being a passenger in a car in which the driver was found to be under the influence of marijuana.

   Chris Webber

17th February 2004 - Suspended for 8 games, 5 games for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy and 3 for his unrelated perjury charge. Apparently smoking pot is worse than perjury.

   JamesOn Curry

4th February 2004 - Arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of sale and delivery of marijuana, and two counts of sale, possession, and delivery of a controlled substance on school grounds.    Damon Stoudamire

July 2003 - Arrested for marijuana possession for the third time after trying to pass through an airport metal detector with some weed wrapped in tin foil, which was a bit dumb. Suspended by the Blazers and fined $250,000, whilst agreeing to be placed into a drug rehabilitation scheme. Damon says he's now seemingly clean, even allowing Trail Blazers beat writers to take him for random testing at a date he had no control over to prove his point. (He passed.)

   Jackson Vroman

24th May 2003 - Arrested and charged for marijuana possession after a car in which he was a passenger was pulled over for speeding. Sentenced to complete a substance abuse program, a years probation, 100 hours of community service and had to pay court costs.

   Rodney Buford

Early 2003 - While playing for Panathinaikos, Buford was suspended for marijuana violations. Do you see a pattern here?

   Eddie Griffin

April 2003 - Pulled over for speeding. Was found to be in possession of marijuana. Ticketed.

   Joseph Forte

25th April 2003 - While being ticketed for going 90 in a 65 mph zone, Forte was also arrested and cited for marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and having a concealed weapon about his person (giggidy).

   Qyntel Woods

March 2003 - Arrested and charged with speeding and marijuana possession. Fined $1,100, suspended by the Blazers. Admitted to being addicted to the drug, and pretty stupidly offered his basketball trading card as identification.

   Paul Harris

   Rodney Buford

February 2002 - Suspended for 5 games by the NBA for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Insists that he didn't fail another test, but that he merely failed to contact the correct officials.

   Lamar Odom

   Rodney Buford

6th May 2000 - Arrested for marijuana possession for the third time after being pulled over.

   Corie Blount

24th December 1999 - Stopped by traffic police for having tinted windows. Car was seized because of the windows and having no front plate. Police also seized $19,435 in cash from Blount and handed it over to the DEA, after a K-9 unit smelled drug residue on it. Blount said it came from a car sale. Blount was not arrested nor charged with anything, and had to sue to get his money back. But, considering his other entry on this list, it warrants a mention.

   Rodney Buford

5th November 1999 - Arrested for marijuana possession for the second time after being found with a small amount of marijuana on him in a customs check. Was not punished by law or by the NBA.

   Rodney Buford

May 1999 - Arrested for marijuana possession for the first time and for driving under the influence. Pleaded no contest. Had his driving license suspended for six months, fined $400, received probation and was ordered to attend a drug and alcohol awareness class. Apparently it didn't work.

   Jason Williams

February 1998 - Kicked off of his college team after failing a drugs test for the second time.

   Chris Webber

20th January 1998 - Arrested and charged with assault, marijuana possession and numerous traffic violations, such as driving under the influence of drugs, speeding, and resisting arrest.    Allen Iverson

4th August 1997 - Convicted of carrying an unlicensed concealed weapon and marijuana possession after the car he was riding as a passanger in was stopped for speeding. In a plea bargain, pleaded no contest to the gun charge so that the drug charge would be dropped. Sentenced to 100 hours community service, 3 years probation and 2 years of drug testing.

   Cliff Robinson

30th July 1997 - Arrested for marijuana possesion. Charged was later dropped.

   Marcus Camby

June 1997 - Arrested and charged with marijuana possesion. Charge dropped after Camby did sufficient community service.

   Caron Butler

1995ish - When he was 15, Butler was arrested for, amongst other things, possession of crack cocaine. He was sent to a maximum security detention centre, where he spent two weeks in "The Hole". Decided there that it was probably best to reform.

   Lee Benson

Undated - At some point in his youth, Jalen was arrested in a drugs bust. That's all I got. Don't know when, don't know why, don't know how, don't know what (f anything) became with it. I just know that he was arrested in a drugs bust.
