Ruben Patterson

Forward

December 1996: Charged with aggravated burglary after kicking his way into a former girlfriend's apartment, assaulting her, and stealing her purse.

June 2000: Punched and broke the jaw of a man who he thought scratched his car outside a nightclub. Was originally sentenced to 6 months in jail, changed to 6 months probation. Also fined $1,000 and sentenced to 8 hours communtiy service, and suspended for three games by the NBA.

September 2001: Sentenced to a year in jail (all but 15 days of which were suspended) after pleading no contest to an attempted rape charge on his nanny. Allegedly, she came in to find Patterson standing naked, masturbating. He then forced her to give him head, and ejaculated within seconds. Only then did he let her leave. Allegedly. Also fined $100,000 by his team the Blazers, which seemed a little ironic since they'd just given him $35 million, even with this charge hanging over him. Additionally received 2 years probation, a $5,000 fine and had to pay the nanny.

November 2002: Arrested for domestic assault by request of his wife. She then decided not to press charges.

May 2007: Charged with failure to register his address. Patterson moved house, and, as a part of the aforementioned 2011 conviction, he must sign the sex offender's register wherever he lives within five days of moving. He did not do this, was sent an official letter, and still did not do it, leading to the arrest warrant and misdemeanour charge. Patterson surrendered to authorites two days later and avoided jail time after paying a $1,000 fine.

January 2009: Accused of rape after an incident at a party. Charges dropped two months later when the accuser admitted she was lying. Accuser later charged with making a false alarm and fined.

November 2009: Arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and resisting arrest after being present at a shooting at a caf?. As Patterson left the caf? in amongst a large crowd, a woman was shot in the leg. Patterson didn't do it, yet he kicked off a bit when police tried to arrest him, and had to be tased. Not sure where the evidence tampering comes into it.

27th March 2010: Arrested and charged with DUI. Sentenced to a six-month sus[ended jail sentence, a $500 fine, 18 months of probation in which he is ordered not to drink alcohol, and mandatory attendance at a three-day driving program.
