October 2002 : Arrested and charged with third-degree sexual assault. Pierce
was accused by a woman at a party of forcing her to perform a sex act on
him, covering her mouth when she screamed. Pierce initially pleaded innocent,
but then took a plea bargain and pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of
assault causing injury in a sexual assault. Sentenced to a year of probation,
counseling and 200 hours of community service, which, when completed, wiped
the charge from his record. Suspended by Iowa for the whole 2002-03 season. |

27th 2005: While arguing with a girlfriend, Pierce allegedly choked her,
threatened her with a knife and stripped her, caused damage to her apartment
and stole a laptop and camera. Dismissed from the Iowa program. Initially
pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree burglary, assault with intent
to commit sexual assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, the first
two of which were felonies. A no contact order was granted to the woman,
which Pierce promptly violated by calling her over 200 times in a two month
span. In August, before his trial began, Pierce accepted a plea deal in
which he pled guilty to third-degree burglary (a misdemeanour, as opposed
to the previous felony), assault with an intent to commit sexual abuse,
false imprisonment, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. In October, Pierce
was sentenced to a five-year suspended sentence for the burglary charge,
two years on the assault charge and one year each for false imprisonment
and criminal mischief, to be served concurrently with the assault sentence.
Was released on probation in September 2006 after serving 332 days - his
early release was granted on account of his attendance in a sex offender
rehabilitation program - and had to sign the sex offender's register, as
well as serve 4 years and 1 months worth of probation. |

| Summer 2007 : By attending summer league with the Golden State Warriors, Pierce violated his probation order (which did not allow him to leave the state of Iowa), and received a further 30 days in jail. | ||
