1996-1997: Took loans to the tune of $105,000 from some guy named Ed Martin, who was loaning the money to University of Michigan stars in order to launder it, for it came from his illegal gambling operation. No charges brought against Taylor himself, but school faced heavy sanctions and now has to act like Taylor never existed, until 2012.
 
14th December 2001: Suspended for 5 games for violating the league anti-drug program. Admitted to using marijuana.
 
7th November 2003: Suspended for at least 10 games for his second violation of the league anti-drug program. Suspension later reduced to 6 games.
 
6th December 2006: Suspended for 5 games for violating the league anti-drug program. For the third time.
