Josh Heytvelt

Forward

February 9th 2007: Arrested and charged with possesion of an illegal substance after he and Gonzaga teammate Theo Davis, who were travelling in Heytvelt's car, were pulled over in a traffic stop because the back lights weren't working. The officer smelt marijuana in the vehicle, searched it, and found a small amount of weed as well as some dodgy mushrooms. Not dodgy as in old and inedible, but dodgy as in moody, illegal, illicit, shifty, etc. The marijuana charge was only a misdemeanour, but the possession of the shrooms was a felony. Sentenced to 240 hours of community service (he did nearly 300 in the end), weekly drug tests and compliance with a court-supervised diversion program that led to the dismissal of the charges a year later.
