1988-1993: Took loans to the tune of $288,000 from some guy named Ed Martin, who was loaning the money to University of Michigan stars in order to launder it, for it came from his illegal gambling operation. Initially denied accepting money in college, but later pleaded guilty to that and the charge of criminal contempt, not perjury, which kept his ass out of jail. Sentenced to 300 hours community service which, if completed satisfactorily, would reduce the charge from a felony to a misdemeanour. Webber did so, turning in 332 hours and spending tens of thousands on his own money on school equipment for local kids. But he was the maximum possible fine of fined $100,000 anyway.
January 1998: Arrested and charged with assault, marijuana possesion, and numerous traffic violations, such as driving under the influence of drugs, speeding, and resisting arrest. Acquitted by a jury of the assault, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and driving under the influence charges, and paid $560 in fines for the other stuff.
June 1998: Named in a sexual assault suit, but cleared.
17/02/2004: Suspended for 5 games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Additionally suspended for 3 games for his aforemtnioned perjury trial.
